HSV release Camaro pricing
Available in only one grade for now – a ‘2SS’ coupe with a 6.2-litre Gen V LT1 V8 and 8-speed auto transmission – the HSV converted and prepared Camaro will be priced from $85,990, which includes LCT, but not dealer delivery or other on-road coasts.
On list pricing, that makes the Camaro more than $23,000 dearer than a comparable MY18 Mustang GT V8 fastback, over $12,000 more than the upcoming GT V8-based Bullitt fastback coupe and even $11,200 above the most expensive Mustang; the $74,709 GT V8 convertible.
In terms of spec, the 2SS is one of twelve Camaro options produced for the North American market and is an upper-level variant; above the 1LS, 1LT and 2LT, but beneath the ZL1.
HSV will start local re-manufacture and re-engineering of the Camaro this month, ahead of release before the end of the year. Only 550 “first year” (ie. 2018) units will be produced for Australia and New Zealand, with HSV the first Australian company to produce Camaros with full volume compliance.
