We last featured Geoff, specifically his scale model car collection that numbered in the thousands, back in 2020. He also had a 1:1 scale Cortina and a Mini or two back then, but a few things have changed since…
The Cortina’s been sold and in 2021, a sea change/tree change for the former HTCAV Secretary and Category Manager left enough in the kitty for a Chevy Nova and an EH Holden, the latter of which claimed a third in class at the 2024 Rob Roy Revival in February. Geoff’s two Group Nb race cars share shed space with a small fleet of modern JCW Mini Coopers - three coupes and a roadster.
As Classique Café is open seven days a week, it doesn’t leave Geoff much time for regular motorsport pursuits, but the passion for historic touring cars “runs deep in my blood”, so he manages to get away every now and then.
Along with “the best coffee in Bairnsdale”, Classique Café offers a unique Asian/Aussie fusion menu (breakfast, brunch and lunch) that’s hard to resist – especially with a free coffee thrown in!
