JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane gets festive
Where else can you see lowriders, track cars, kei trucks, vintage motorcycles, Aussie muscle and a V12-engined Edwardian monster all in the one place? At JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane, that’s where!
For the final JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane of 2025, held on Saturday, 13 December, the festive vibe saw one of the biggest turnouts of the year, with the car park at Café Elle in Geebung literally bursting with vehicles and people.

The elephant in the room - literally! – at the December meet was a vintage-style roadster based on a truck chassis, rolling on 20-inch retro-look rims and powered by a rare GMC ‘Twin Six’ V12 engine. While it looked like two V6s stitched together, the Twin Six had a single block, with the heads in four banks of three cylinders each, two intake manifolds and two distributors.

Designed for use in long haul trucks and as stationary engines, these 11.5-litre naturally aspirated monsters were built for a brief period in the 1960s. Horsepower was meagre at 275hp (205kW), but the Twin Six delivered a whopping 630lb/ft (854Nm) of torque. That peak torque wouldn’t be bettered by a GM factory engine until the 2010s – needing turbos or a supercharger to do it.

Other attractions at the December meet included a pair of veteran Triumph motorcycles (1910 and 1916), a Toyota Sera with its funky butterfly doors, Toyota AE86 track car, some very cool restored and modified VW Beetles, and a first-gen VW Passat with a canoe on the roof!
A stylish Jaguar S-Type rivalled some of the late-model supercars on display for eye candy, while Chev and Cadillac lowriders added to the fun when their hydraulics were fired up.

Aussie muscle was represented by Toranas, Falcons and Commodores, but the standouts in this set included a Hemi-powered Valiant AP5, 351-equipped XE Falcon, drag-spec VH Commodore and an XY “408 GT” Falcon wagon. An EK Holden sedan rocking some serious under-bonnet mods and a tricked-up BF Falcon XR6 turned heads, too.
