KG-1 Concept car of the future
The driver sits in an active position, the passenger the passive one and together they form a unit. The semi integral body and frame of the vehicle can be produced using carbon fibre reinforced material. This light and strong material offers significant savings in weight. A mesh of protective fibre is stretched around the composite frame like a second skin. It is significantly elastic, and yet extremely strong. This high tech textile can offer functional characteristics, such as being heat and water resistant and fire retardant, UV stable and even bullet proof. It has high luminosity, and actually glows in the dark.
The KG-1 Concept will be powered by solar energy. Solar cells atomized on the textile bodywork will convert light into energy, thanks to the inkjet technology TenCate. This is extremely sustainable and the finish of the vehicle is also self cleaning through the action of the sunlight. The vehicle was recently launched in the Netherlands.
