Major makeover coming for Collingrove Hillclimb
In line with South Australia’s growing clout as a motorsport state that has already witnessed the return of Supercars to the streets of Adelaide, and will soon welcome both MotoGP and the World Superbike Championship, the historic Collingrove Hillclimb in the Barossa Valley is set for improvement and expansion.

In August, the Sporting Car Club of South Australia (SCCSA) announced that Collingrove, which has hosted hillclimb events since 1952, will be redeveloped as part of a broader initiative that includes a new identity for the circuit, rebrand of the SCCSA, new digital presence and new member experience.
“The rebrand goes further than just the logo,” said Chris Frith, SCCSA President. “We have developed a new website, an app which will be released in the coming weeks, a new range of club merchandise, and a complete overhaul of out popular ‘Wheelspin’ magazine.
“Further to this, our events have been given a refresh, with new event brands and more identifiable and unique artwork to differentiate each event.”

With specific reference to the Collingrove Hillclimb, the SCCSA (who own and operate the venue) say that the site will be redeveloped and repositioned as a multi-purpose, greenfield space, capable of hosting not only motorsport events, but also trade exhibitions, festivals and other interactive activations. Collingrove now has its own branding and website, with a social media account and venue merchandise to come.
“This strategic plan delivers to the club more revenue streams, but it also delivers our current and future members even more reasons to be a part of our club,” Frith added.

To support this new structure, a new arm of the SCCSA, ‘The Adelaide Events Co.,’ has been established to represent the club’s growing commercial interests in events and assets.
“The Adelaide Events Co has been established to more formally manage the club’s sponsorships and venues,” Frith explained. “It will provide partners with a streamlined way to access our events and our growing audiences and venues.”
