Maserati introduces 10-year warranty
Maserati has responded to the growing number of extended warranty programs from other prestige and luxury carmakers by introducing one of their own.
While many car brands now offer warranties of five years or more, the standard Maserati factory warranty remains at three years, although four- and five-year extended warranty options are available. The new ‘Extra10 Warranty Program’ extends the factory coverage to ten years, but only on powertrain components like the engine and transmission.
Offered worldwide and applicable to any new Maserati vehicle, the Extra10 Warranty Program is claimed to be unprecedented in the automotive market and something that the Italian carmaker says will consolidate the value of their vehicles over time.
As well as brand new models, this initiative also applies to Maserati vehicles that were first registered within the last nine years and six months of the program’s announcement on 2 August, 2022. That presumably means all MY13 Maseratis and newer are eligible, with no mileage limit as part of the program.
Maserati owners are advised to contact their Maserati dealer to determine if their vehicle is included in the Extra10 Warranty Program. Maserati dealers will also have more information on this new service, including what’s required to activate it, vehicle pick-up and return options, courtesy car availability and more.
The Extra10 Warranty Program was developed by the Maserati Personal Service Lab, an in-house department devoted to creating services and offers focused on customer requirements. In this instance, the aim is to create a “unique, innovative customer experience that looks ahead to the future”.
Australian pricing for the Extra10 Warranty Program had not been confirmed at time of writing. See your Maserati dealer for more details.
Maserati’s Australian range includes the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans, Levante SUV and MC20 supercar in coupe and convertible forms. The Grecale SUV is an upcoming addition, due for local release in Q1, 2023.
