Mini launches ‘60 Years Edition’
Based on the current Mini Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S/SD, the 60 Years Edition will be offered in both 3-door and 5-door form, with four engine choices (two diesels and two petrols) ranging from 100kW to 141kW, matched to an auto transmission.
All-new British Racing Green (officially ‘British Racing Green IV’) paint for the special edition is a nod to the Mini’s close connection to British motorsport. Optional colours include Midnight black metallic, Melting Silver metallic, Moonwalk Grey metallic and Mini Yours Lapisluxury Blue. To these colours, a choice of black or white contrast roof can be added, with matching mirror caps.
Unique bonnet stripes carry a 60 Years logo on the nearside, with this logo repeated on the side indicator housings. Also exclusive to the 60 Years Edition is a new ’60 Years Spoke’ alloy wheel design in a special two-tone finish.
The 60 Years logo is repeated on the front door sills, dash trim, steering wheel and front seat headrests. A puddle lamp, activated when the driver’s door is opened, projects the 60 Years logo onto the ground.
Standard interior appointments in the special edition include a sports leather steering wheel and sports seats in ‘Mini Yours Leather Lounge 60 Years’ trim, which can also be had in Dark Maroon that’s exclusive to this edition.
A ’60 Years Chill’ equipment package, standard LED headlights, foglamps and tail lights (the latter in Union Jack design), interior ambient lighting, automatic air con, Mini Driving Modes and Mini Excitement Package are also standard on the anniversary edition.
UK and European release of the Mini 60 Years Edition is scheduled for March, with 500 units allocated for the UK. Australian availability is to be confirmed.
