Author, Simon Garfield obviously shares this belief and has uncovered a fascinating story behind Britians favourite car. Garfield has tracked down the cast of engineers, designers and other notables behind the Mini project, and through their words weaved an enthralling story. He also had complete access to the Mini archives and the full co-operation of MINI Plant Oxford in preparing the book, which is enhanced with a number of never before published images of the Mini's development. Each chapter is laced with the results of words from countless interviews with people that worked on the Mini project and it is through their perspective the reader grasps not only their successes, but shares their frustrations and doubts throughout the evolution of the Mini. Garfield has welded many stong opinions together to tell a story, that could well be described as the unauthorised history of the Mini. Highly recommended reading.
