Mopar offers heritage parts for Lancia Delta Integrale
Kicking off the programme are front and rear bumpers for the Lancia Delta Integrale and Integrale Evoluzione.
The moulding equipment that originally produced these bumpers was found abandoned at a plant in San Benigno. Fully refurbished electrically and hydraulically, the machinery is now being used to produce the new bumpers for the Lancia Delta Integrale, using special polymer thermoplastic compounds.
As well as improving impact resistance, this material is said to offer high heat resistance, strength and hardness, low susceptibility to stress cracking and low moisture absorption.
For the Delta Integrale Evoluzione, the bumpers use a different type of polymer thermoplastic, which FCA Heritage says has excellent solvent resistance and is extremely malleable, even at low-temperatures. It’s also described as having a proven track record in off-line exterior paint applications.
The reproduction parts from Mopar and FCA Heritage can only be purchased through the Mopar e-Store (www.moparstore.co.uk) and authorised FCA retailers.
Currently unavailable in Australia, a local release for these reproduction “Lancia Classiche” bumpers is unconfirmed, but based on UK pricing, they should cost around $2,500 for front bumpers and $2,000 for rear bumpers, should they officially come here.
