Nazarro Tipo 2 to be auctioned at 2013 Motorclassica
One of just three in existence worldwide, the century-old sports roadster created by Italian motor racing ace, Felice Nazarro has been restored to running order, and will be one of only 30 consignments permitted for the exclusive auction.
With marvellous provenance and in excellent running order, the consigned Nazarro Tipo is a sister machine to the one Felice Nazzaro drove to victory in the 1913 Targa Florio.
Australia's oldest auction house, Theodore Bruce, will conduct the 2013 Motorclassica Auction as an exclusive bidder-only affair over cocktails on the evening of Saturday, 26 October.
"Our auction is a key component of the annual Motorclassica event but this year we have stepped it up, limiting the consignments to just 30 significant and desirable cars, with the 1913 Nazarro an early highlight," Motorclassica Event Director Paul Mathers says.
"To create exclusivity for our collectors and enthusiasts, the Motorclassica Auction has moved to the Saturday night and will be held as a cocktail party, open only to registered bidders."
Theodore Bruce, renowned auctioneers of all things classic, collectible and valuable, has been in business for 135 years.
"Already, months out, our list of consigned automobiles is shaping up very nicely," Theodore Bruce automotive specialist James Nicholls says.
"We will have a fantastic collection of cars going under the hammer, and we have the expertise and experience to make the auction a highlight of what is now the best motoring event in the southern hemisphere.
"James Badgery will be our lead auctioneer on the night, and will bring a great sense of occasion to what will be a very significant automobile auction."
This year's Motorclassica will celebrate 110 years of Harley Davidson, 100 years of both Aston Martin and Italian styling house Bertone, 60 years of the Chevy Corvette and 50 years of Lamborghini.
Melbourne's historic Royal Exhibition Building will see more than 150 cars on show inside its 19th century halls, plus another 200 cars each day outside in the adjacent club displays.
