ORDERS OPEN FOR TOYOTA GR SUPRA GT4

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Australia (TGRA) has opened their order books for the GR Supra GT4 EVO2. A factory-built, racing version of the GR Supra sports coupe, the GT4 is homologated for Australian competition, including the 6-round, 12-race Monochrome GT4 Australia championship.

Australian availability of the GR Supra GT4 follows TGRA’s partnership with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand (TGRNZ), who will manage the sale, distribution, parts and technical support for the Aussie market.

Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer, Vin Naidoo, said the availability of the GR Supra GT4 was an exciting addition for local motorsport competitors.

“There are already a couple of teams racing GR Supra GT4s in the local GT4 championship, which is run as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries”, Naidoo said. “This alignment with TGRNZ will give more Australian customers easier access to purchase and race this outstanding racecar.”

Nicolas Caillol, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand Motorsport Manager, is excited to add another performance product from the GR stable to the local market.

“We like our performance cars to be fun to drive, so adding the GR Supra GT4 EVO2 into the mix in this popular Australian and New Zealand motorsport category definitely takes that philosophy to the next level,” Caillol said.

Based on the GR Supra, the GR Supra GT4 adds a Marelli ECU and Akrapovic racing exhaust to the 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine. This enables the track-only car to generate more than 350kW (470hp) and 660Nm, compared to 285kW and 500Nm in the road car.

The eight-speed ZF automatic transmission is modified to suit the extra power, and drives the rear wheels through a high-torque GKN Motorsport driveshaft and DREXLER motorsport-spec limited-slip diff.

KW adjustable dampers provide racecar handling, while six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo brakes providing the stopping power. 18-inch OZ Racing wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber complete the racing package.
