Restoring any classic car to its original glory is a tough gig, but the availability of good quality reproduction parts makes the process much easier – and also quicker than trying to repair original components, spend months hunting online for NOS parts or scouring through swap meets.
Original Resto Parts is a company that’s doing their bit to make the resto process easier through the manufacture and supply of high-quality reproduction parts.
Original Resto Parts have set themselves the mission of supplying all classic car restorers with quality parts, ensuring historic vehicles can be brought back to original, factory-fresh condition.
Start at the Back
The initial product release from Original Resto Parts is a tail light lens kit to suit HT Holdens – covering Belmont, Kingswood and Premier sedans, as well as Monaro coupes, including the GTS and GTS 350.
As owners and aficionados of these classic Holdens will know, the tail lights on the HT series were completely different from the HK and changed again for the HG series. Those same enthusiasts will also know that the OEM lenses faded, cracked and became brittle over time, leading to some ‘creative’ solutions for repair and replacement, like lining the lenses with coloured cellophane, painting the inner section and even modifying the lenses from other makes and models to suit!
Reproduction lenses from Original Resto Parts mean you don’t have to go through that hassle, as these high-quality units are made to last and made to OEM specification from original Holden samples, so they fit perfectly, have the correct transparency and include the textured finish inside and out that’s unique to these lenses.
Sold as a kit that includes the red brake/tail light lens and amber indicator lens for both the left and right hand side, pricing of $479.00 (incl. GST) is covered by a money back guarantee. Postage to anywhere in Australia is included in the kit’s price.
Just the Beginning
HT Holdens don’t get a lot of love on the reproduction parts front, especially compared to HKs and HQs, so it’s good to see Original Resto Parts’ initial offering is catering to this underappreciated model.
This is just the start, though, with Original Resto Parts adding more to their range in the coming weeks and months.
