Peugeot have pulled out all stops, with a world launch of the 308 Touring earlier in the year at the Melbourne Show, and now it was Sydney's turn with the launch of the CC.

It will be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, and for the first time, a diesel engine. Peugeot also launched the range topping 308 XTS that goes on sale here with a 128kW GTi turbo-petrol engine. Responsive and highly flexible, the engine develops peak torque at only 1600rpm and is fitted with a new 6-speed manual gearbox. In keeping with the dynamic nature of the engine, the exterior of the XTS model introduces a number of new features. The lower front bumper panel has a unique appearance which is combined with a rear spoiler and a reduced overall ride height even though the car sits on 18" alloy wheels. Xenon directional headlamps, front fog lamps and a chrome exhaust tip complete the picture.
