Melbourne’s first post-COVD National 4x4 Outdoors Show in 2022 was big. This year’s one is set to be even bigger, with the Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale to host three big days of products, activities and entertainment celebrating 4x4s, getting off the beaten track and enjoying adventures in the great outdoors.
Running from Friday, 18 August, to Sunday, 20 August, the 2023 National 4x4 Outdoors Show Melbourne will give Victorians access to everything they need to prepare for their next day trip, weekender or longer getaway beyond the towns and cities. If your upcoming plans involve exploring and enjoying our great country, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show is the place to be!
The timing for this year’s Melbourne event makes it ideal to stock up on all the gear you need ahead of that summer getaway and pick up some valuable tips from off-roading experts, too.
Big Names, Big Savings
The 2023 National 4x4 Outdoors Show Melbourne will play host to some of the biggest names in 4x4 accessories and upgrades, as well as campers, caravans, outdoor adventure accessories, tourism and more. Participating brands and companies include Isuzu UTE, ARB, Ineos Grenadier, Maxtrax, Lovells, Ironman 4x4, Legendex, Darche, Mars Campers, Opposite Lock, Aeroklas, Piranha Off Road, Bob Jane T-Marts, East Coast Bullbars, Pedders, Bendix, Narva, Hulk 4x4, Monroe, Dobinsons. The event website – 4x4show.com.au/melbourne - includes a comprehensive ‘Bargain Hunters Guide’, outlining specials on offer at the show. There will be savings of up to 50 per cent on some products, with hundreds of dollars to be saved on others. Using the guide, showgoers can mark products to check out during their visit, with show-only competitions also part of the mix.
Be Informed, Be Entertained
Much more than just a giant one-stop shop, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show Melbourne also features informative presentations and demonstrations of four-wheel driving skills and recovery techniques.
The popular Outback Stage will play host to some of Australia’s finest off-roading and off-the-grid travel personalities, including Jesse and Jocko from 4WD 24/7, Jase Andrews from All 4 Adventure, Sam Eyles from Built Not Bought, the Aussie Arvos boys and Brianna & Bridget from Red Dirt Diary.
To check out 4x4 machinery over a variety of terrain, the Proving Ground will be running off-roading demonstrations each day, with the chance to get in the vehicles for passenger sessions over simulated off-road hazards, like rocks, inclines, a sand trap and water crossing. The team from Four Wheel Drive Victoria will also be on hand at the Proving Ground, providing a range of practical tips and tricks for safe off-roading and vehicle recovery.
Additionally, the Isuzu D-MAX 'Iron Summit' will be on-site for passenger rides and the Girls Day Out team will host female-friendly 4x4 familiarisation and maintenance workshops, while the ‘Track & Trips’ stage will see 4x4 clubs share local knowledge and take questions from showgoers.
Big Jumps, Big Fun, Big Feed
For thrills and spills, head to the Action Arena, where the Freestyle Now BMX stunt show will provide plenty of action for the kids. For the grown-ups, the Outback Bar offers the chance to relax and enjoy a hot BBQ lunch and cold drink with some live music before heading back to explore all the show offerings. There will also be a huge range of other food and beverage options on site.
Finally, the team at Black Snake Productions will present their popular reptile awareness show, where you can have your photo taken with a native reptile and learn important, lifesaving information to use when encountering our dangerous animals in their natural habitat.
