Quality everywhere in Burns & Co’s July Auction
Following the success of their first three-night auction in June, Burns & Co are going big again this July, with another three-night auction that’s packed with quality collectable cars, motorcycles and automotive-themed collectables.
The July Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction will be held on 28, 29 and 30 July, with bidding commencing from 6:00pm each evening.
This auction features a wide range of cars, motorcycles and selected memorabilia, so there will be something for everyone, including fantastic Aussie muscle, all-time favourite classics, American, European or Asian icons, collectable motorcycles and entry-level club cars.

Pre-Bidding and Catalogue open NOW
The catalogue for the July Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction is now available online, with pre-bidding open ahead of the live auction, which will be held over three big nights at Burns & Co’s Victorian auction rooms - 4 Market Drive, Bayswater, 3153. (NOTE: On-site bidding is not available at Newcastle rooms).
If you can’t bid in person, there are options to bid online, via phone or through absentee bidding forms.
Burns and Co. are specialists at selling Aussie muscle and classic cars, and the July auction will be no different. Leading the way amongst the Holdens is a 1955 FJ sedan that’s offered by well-known singer and entertainer, Frankie J Holden (OAM). This well-equipped and well-presented classic FJ sits nicely alongside FJ, EH and EK utes that are also in this auction.
Other Holdens on offer include a 1970 Torana GTR XU-1, 1977 LX Torana SS hatchback and two 1974 LH Torana SL/R 5000 tributes. There’s also an HD wagon, HK Premier, HR Special, HQ and CV8 Monaros, a 2007 HSV Grange LS, 2006 HSV VZ GTO LS2, VK Commodore V8 sedan, VS Commodore ute and sedan, VP Berlina, and 3 x VN Commodores (incl a rare, top-spec SS survivor and HSV + 6).
Aussie-made Fords in the July auction include three genuine Falcon GTs - an XA coupe in Wild Violet (with a very interesting history), 351 XB sedan and a 351 XB coupe. There’s also an XY GT tribute, two BF Falcon GT Cobras and one of the RHD Mustang Cobra fastbacks officially sold here by Ford Australia back in 2001-03.
Other Fords built or assembled locally include a 1937-inspired, 2016-built custom hot rod, 1939 V8 Sloper hot rod, XL Falcon wagon, XT and XD utes, a desirable XE Fairmont 351 Ghia sedan and wagon, EF and EA Fairmont sedans, a very tidy 1988 Laser in Ghia trim, 2017 Roush Mustang R727, and a 1970 Galaxie.
Other Australian made/delivered cars in the auction include R, S and AP6 Valiants, a Leyland P76, and an Australian-assembled, factory RHD Chevrolet Bel Air.
It’s not just Aussie cars up for grabs. There are plenty of American, European and Asian cars available, too, including a customised 1950 Mercury 2-door sedan and a stock 1969 Mercury Montego hardtop. Pony car lovers have 1965 and 1966 Mustangs (both coupes) to choose from, with a 1960 Lincoln also available. Other American iron includes a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air pillared 2-door, and ’59 and ’61 Cadillac de Villes.
The variety in this auction also includes a 1967 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, ’76 Datsun 260Z, a very rare VW Type 2 container van, customised and restored ’71 Beetle with a Stan Pobjoy-built 1600, C3 and C4 Corvettes, rare ’64 Dodge Custom 880 sedan, Mercedes 450SLC, C1960s Fiat 600, Porsche 986 Boxster, a striking ’34 Plymouth Deluxe sedan, 1977 and 1993 Jaguar XJS coupes, a ’38 Buick Special sedan, C1920 Rover 8 Tourer and a 1999 Jeep Cherokee.

The motorcycles consigned for this auction cover almost a century of two-wheel history, including a 1930 Harley-Davidson 30-D outfit and 1927 Model J solo, a pair of custom Hondas (CB900 and CB550), a Yamaha TY Majesty trials bike and Royal Enfield Interceptor outfit. Add in the Ducatis - a 750 SS, Paul Smart 1000 SportClassic and a very desirable MHR Mille - and there is a great selection of two-wheel machines up for grabs.
For something different, there is a ‘Bob Booth Special’ tribute 1936 Austin 7 Sprint Car up for grabs. And for something really different, an Isaacs Fury 1 biplane (in the style of a 1930s Hawker Fury) is also in this auction.
