Rally drivers support Kids Under Cover
With the help of leading business coach, David Howells, 2011 Victorian Rally Champions Wal Lee and David Lethlean have decided to take an innovative and proactive approach to generate much-needed funds for Kids Under Cover.
"Rather than rely on asking my network to donate cash like they do for so many other charities, we wanted to be more innovative so, by introducing my contacts in the rally world to Kids Under Cover and having them donate their time to support this great cause, we're able to offer motoring enthusiasts a priceless experience of rally driving with some of the country's best drivers." says Kids Under Cover supporter and leading business coach David Howells.
The day of rally driving, held at Wal Lee's "Wally World" private property in Whitlands, Victoria, offers motoring fans the following:
-A full day of hair raising, gut wrenching, rattle your bones, navigator seat action through the bush
-A day of genuine rally experiences in different vehicles, not simply a "60 second hot lap" offered at some events
-A selection of rally vehicles to ride in, from unrestricted 4WD turbos to a classic Fiat Abarth and an old Commodore skidding around a huge open paddock flat track
-Race Recall to capture all the in-car action of each guest on video
-VIP event with 5 star catering donated by Harts Party Hire and Fabulous Catering
"Kids Under Cover is one of those organisations, that tends to fly under the radar with its extraordinary work in preventing youth homelessness by building homes and complimenting this with scholarships and mentors for at-risk young people in Australia." said Howells.
"The charity runs the 'Donate Your Car' program - www.donateyourcar.org.au - where any unwanted vehicles are collected and auctioned off by partner Manheim with 100% of proceeds going to their youth homelessness programs. With that campaign in mind, we wanted to do something different, but still in the motoring arena, so Wal very kindly offered to donate his car in a different way … for an exclusive rally day at Wally World, his private rally track," continued Howells.
The power of small business networking really helped kick the project along and within hours of the idea coming together a group of Lee's "rally pals," including 2013 Victorian Rally Champions Tristan Penhall and Jolie Middleton, volunteered their cars to ensure continuous action for guests on the day.
"It will be an unforgettable experience for any motorsport enthusiast," Wal Lee said.
The VIP exclusive day is on Monday 26th May at Whitlands (near Whitfield), Victoria. Only four (4) packages, valued at $1,000, are available and these will be sold to the highest bidders.
Entries close 5:00pm on 23 May.
The lucky winners will be notified by email. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Kids Under Cover.
