RAPTOR is World's fastest MINI
The best time of 1:10.87 puts the AC Schnitzer RAPTOR in the league of big dollar supercars. By comparison, the fastest recorded lap of the Hockenheim circuit is 1:09.8, achieved in a Koenigsegg CCR, followed by 1:10.8 recorded by a Pagani Zonda F, with the AC Schnitzer concept third on the hot lap list. The RAPTOR's 1:10.87 puts it ahead of other exotica like Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Ferrari 599.
Based on a MINI John Cooper Works Coupe, the RAPTOR features a power increase from 155 kW (211 PS) to 221 kW (300 PS) and a bespoke exhaust system. Vehicle weight was reduced by more than 100 kg, and the sport chassis featured adjustable height. AC Schnitzer 'Mi2' 18-inch lightweight metal rims were the icing on the cake for driving dynamics and aesthetics.
AC Schnitzer's performance at this year's Tuner Grand Prix backs up last year's effort, where they also neat out all other comers in the AC Schnitzer 'Eagle', another heavily modified MINI, based on a JCW 4-seater.
