RFDS dirt track trek raises big $$
This year's Trek included seven Mustangs, a handful of Dodges and Chevys, a Rambler, De Soto Firesweep, a pair of Mercedes', dozens of Valiants and Fords and legions of Holdens. All in all, 140 pre-1971 cars took part in the week-long trek through NSW & Queensland, and over $1million will be donated to the RFDS as a result. There were some challenges (like the HG Panel Van that had to drive for 170kms in first gear) and surprises along the way, but the 80th anniversary Trek certainly lived up to its 'mission statement' - have fun, explore Outback Australia and raise as much money as possible for the RFDS.
