Subaru release WRX ‘Club Spec Evo’ limited-edition
One of the most recognisable performance vehicles in Australia, and a defining part of Subaru’s identity, the WRX reaches a local milestone in 2026 with delivery of the 60,000th example since its debut as the Impreza WRX in 1994. To celebrate, Subaru Australia has announced a special limited-edition – the WRX AWD Club Spec Evo.

Inspired by the long local heritage of the WRX, the WRX AWD Club Spec Evo is limited to 75 units for the Australian market. Based on the AWD tS Spec B variant that was introduced here last year, the limited-edition WRX is defined by exclusive Sunrise Yellow paint (the only colour offered), 19-inch alloy wheels in matte black and ‘Club Spec Evo’ decals on the rear doors.
Inside, the WRX AWD Club Spec Evo features Recaro front seats in Ultrasuede with leather-look accents. Finished in black and subtle yellow accents, the yellow contrast stitching on these sports bucket seats is repeated on the centre console, dash and doorcards. Finally, a plaque on the centre console includes Club Spec Evo identification and each car’s individual build number.

“Reaching 60,000 WRX sales in Australia is a significant milestone for Subaru and a testament to the enduring connection Australians have with this iconic performance nameplate,” said Scott Lawrence, General Manager, Subaru Australia.
“The WRX AWD Club Spec Evo celebrates that heritage. With a manual-only configuration, exclusive Sunrise Yellow finish and distinctive design details, it’s a special model created for the enthusiasts who have loved and supported WRX for generations.”

Mechanical spec for the AWD Club Spec Evo is unchanged from the tS Spec B it’s based on. That means a turbocharged 2.4-litre Boxer engine (producing 202kW at 5600rpm and 350Nm at 2000-5200rpm), six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive with active torque transfer and selectable driving modes. A 10-speaker sound system, DAB+ radio, climate control air con, digital instrumentation, and multi-function infotainment screen with satnav, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard.
Pricing for this limited-edition is $63,190 (+ ORCs), which is $1,000 more than the tS Spec B sedan it’s based on, with only the AWD tS Sportwagon costing more.
