Summernats tickets for troops
The new association is between the Street Machine Summernats, proudly supported by Rare Spares, and the Royal Australian Navy Central Canteens Fund (RANCCF).
"We are very excited to be able to provide our members the chance to acquire discounted tickets to this iconic event," said Barnie Van Wyk, CEO of RANCCF.
Summernats co-owner Andy Lopez was enthusiastic about the new initiative. "The Nats are happy to support Australia's serving personnel by providing a number of free passes to troops coming home from deployment over Christmas and New Year. We're also offering discounted tickets to every serving Australian troop until December 19th through the Royal Australian Navy Central Canteens."
"The Nats has always had a relationship with the Australian Defence Force. In fact, the Team Army Apprentices have built a couple of very cool cars for the Summernats, including Armygeddon and the very tough Project Digger, a heavily modified 1978 Ford LTD staff car," said Lopez.
Defence force personnel simply need to contact the RANCCF to find out how to take up the ticketing offer.
Summernats 25 is gearing up to be one of the biggest in the history of the event, and will set the benchmark for what's to come in future years. The Summernats 25 Chrome Jubilee will feature all the Summernats favourites, including the world's premier burnout competition the National Burnout Masters, the beasts of Tuff Street, the Elite Top 60, Show 'n' Shine, Miss Summernats, and the awarding of the Grand Champion.
The live music line-up has also been significantly ramped up at Summernats 25, with the Friday night concert featuring ARIA nominated Aussie hip-hop sensation Drapht, indie rockers Children Collide, and Nat Cole and the Kings. Hard rockin' Summernats favourites The Screaming Jets are set to headline the Saturday night entertainment.
Summernats 25 will be held at Exhibition Park in Canberra from the 5th - 8th January 2012. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the website at www.summernats.com.au.
