The 29TH Anniversary Eddington Sprints
This year's running of the Sprints saw over 100 competitors entered, making it one of the biggest fields to date. There was a good mix of rare, historic and classic cars, as well as some modern reproductions and kit cars. It was good to see - and hear - the vintage machines in action as they took off over the 400m closed road course, with many cars rivalling, if not exceeding, the speeds of modern machines. Proving there's just as much fun to be had at Eddington by taking part as there is in winning, even the slower competitors still came back with a grin from ear to ear!
The Sprints ran smoothly all day with no major incidents, offering a very laid back event for both competitors and spectators alike. For anyone who has not attended this event, I'd suggest you pencil it in for next year, as it's well worth the trip. Even if you aren't an historic motorsport fan, there's sure to be something at Eddington to excite everyone.
You will see cars of similar style at this years Just Cars Geelong Revival.
