The original 1978 XC Falcon Cobra hardtop

Less than 50 were built in the special 5.8 Cobra 'Bathurst' specification. The Cobra reached 0-100km/h in 8.3 seconds.

Just 400 XC Cobra hardtops were produced, each individually numbered (with a plaque on the glovebox lid) and painted in the traditional US racing colours of white with mid-blue stripes with cobra badging and snake decal.

For motoring buffs, 302 was the capacity in cubic inches of Ford's small block V8 engine, which, coincidentally, is exactly double the 151kW output of the 1978 Cobra's 4.9-litre V8 engine.
