Toyota 86 convertible concept revealed
The FT-86 Open concept is a study model based on Toyota's rear-wheel-drive 86 sports car that was created to test and verify potential sports car variations.
The concept features an electrically operated soft top, with the interior and exterior finished in high-contrast white and navy blue that Toyota say emphasises the vehicle's proportions as well as the integrated nature of the design.
In addition to the navy contrast to the white interior, yellow-gold stitching in the floor mats and seats accents the concept's sporty feel. The colour-coordinated the interior and exterior is the work of an un-named Milan-based designer, with the resulting design evoking quality and sportiness.
The world premiere of the FT-86 Open concept in Geneva is occurring at the same time as prototype engineering assessments take place, suggesting the softop 86 will be a production reality rather than just a concept.
