Toyota 86 updates
The automatic 86 GT now comes with a Torsen limited-slip differential (LSD) as standard. Toyota says equipping this variant with an LSD brings it into line with the rest of the range and adds $300 to the RRP.
Top-of-the-line GTS manual and automatic variants now have a rear spoiler as standard, adding $500 to their prices.
Toyota says the changes were made based on feedback from customers who wanted the automatic GT to have the same dynamic properties as the rest of the range, and for the GTS to have greater external differentiation.
Power from the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine (147kW) and peak torque (205Nm) is unchanged, as are the transmission options of a six-speed manual or sequential-shift auto.
Standard equipment includes seven airbags, a five-mode stability control system, traction control, anti-skid brakes, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, air-conditioning, CD sound system, daytime running lamps (DRLs) and a multi-information display.
The 86 GTS has 17-inch alloy wheels, a 6.1-inch display screen, satellite navigation with live traffic updates**, auto-levelling HID headlamps, leather-accented front seats, dual-zone climate-control air-conditioning, aluminium pedals, LED DRLs and red stitching highlights.
The Toyota 86 is covered by the Toyota Service Advantage capped-price servicing plan with up to four scheduled services at just $170 each^***.
The 86 has been the best-selling sports car in Australia this year, with local sales topping 4,800 units.
