Trax release golden Valiant R&S 50th Anniversary models
In 1962, Chrysler Australia replaced their dependable, but dated 'Royal' model with an all-new design direct from the USA. Based on the Plymouth Valiant (Chrylser USA's answer to the Chevy Corvair, Ford Falcon and imported cars in the "compact wars"), the first local release of 'R-Series' Valiants sold out rapidly.
Better equipped and more powerful than the local competition, the success of the R series saw a mildly altered S Series follow shortly after the initial 1,000-odd R Series models.
These early Australian Chrysler Valiants are now a strong favourite with enthusiasts, and even boast their own dedicated club.
Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of these pioneering Valiants in 2012, Trax is proud to offer a strictly limited edition twin set, featuring their first gold-plated Valiant models (a gold-plated XK Ford Falcon was released in 2010). The R and S Series Valiants will be sold as a two-car set, in a presentation box with black & white reproductions of original photographs, and a backing card.
Available for order now, the 1962 R & S Series Valiant '50th Anniversary Gold Twin Set' will retail for $99/set, with delivery commencing in late July. Keep an eye out at your local Trax retailer, or order direct from www.topgear.com.au
