Tuff Torana added to Shannons Sydney auction

The Torana, which is being offered at No Reserve, is advertised as a 1976 LX model sedan, with a 308ci V8, 4-speed manual transmission and disc front brakes. The classic LX SLR 5000 styling touches are all there, like the wheel arch flares, bonnet scoop, Hotwire-style mags and bold SLR 5000 graphics. Externally, the Cotillion White-style paint with black accents appears to be in good condition.

Details on the Torana's restoration, full specification or any modifications were not available at time of writing, but given the pre-sale guiding range of $25,000 - $30,000 and build date (LX SLR 5000s weren't offered until late 1977), one suspects it may be a clone. Despite this, the SLR presents very well, with a clean engine bay and VGC interior, including a modern sound system.

Shannons Sydney Summer Classic Auction is scheduled for Monday, February 20, at Shannons Sydney auction rooms at 65 Reserve Road, St Leonards.
