1930 Austin 7 Race Car Supercharged What it Sits on: 1930 Boxed Short Wheel Base Chassis Hydraulic shockers rear Hydraulic mini minor brakes all round excellent stopping. 1937 ruby steer box all hardened and lapped no play. Big 7 front axle wider width greater strength . 1937 stub axles with CNC machined solid front and rear hubs to avoid cracking and no shear factor. 16 inch off set wheels west London style.Excellent condition. Near new tyres ,fully balanced manufactured A7 rims powder coated. What Drives it: 1937 coil crankcase machined front nose section then matched to a magneto casting purposely casted to drive ulster style water pump, distributor, and supercharger via timing and camshaft gears. Extra crankcase and head studs for strength,1936 riccardo style head polished and re ported. Ultra sounded block acid dipped and corrosive treated with larger Singer 9 exhaust and inlet valves with hardened valve seats and guides. Special 70/30 cam shaft with overlap to allow greater fuel and air blown in by gear driven roots type supercharger creating 12 LB boost 5000rpm. Phoenix Pressure fed crankshaft 50 LB Phoenix Rods High volume oil pump 50 LB pressure Oil Filter Baffled sump. Datsun Distributor fixed advance firing points corrected. 1/12 “ SU Carby 100 thou Jet GU needle then ground to fine tune air fuel . Last tuned and dyno Feb 2018 55HP at Rear wheels. 1935 4 sp close ratio gearbox all new gears fitted . Diff ratio 5.65 (nIppy) to allow quicker acceleration. What Does it Look Like: Period style Aluminium bob tail body with a short radiator cowl . Volvo British Green code 201 Excellent condition apart from rub mark above rear right wheel. Period style instrument gauges and steer wheel Single seater with approved race roll bar and 5 point seat belt harness. I have built it to fit tall solid guys I am 6ft and 95 kg And fit very comfortably in it however, if you are vertically challenged, easy fix to move seat closer as provision is made. How Fast Does it Go: This car handles and performs with utmost reliability and speed over the years that it has competed . It has never not finished a competition meeting and runs well ahead of competitors in its class. It is tuned to perform on race tracks along with hillclimbs as this is where it shines in braking handling acceleration. Multiple class trophy winner. History: Built 2002 ,this is the fourth car I have built, which this one was built in kind with ex raid car builders (1980s Aussie assault on English Austin 7 competition ) Mr Bob Booth and Mr Stan Rodda who’s love and wealth of engineering design and thoughts where tossed around for many hours in designing the years of experience and knowledge of what makes a good fast fun safe realiable Austin 7. We set to the task of balance power and handling and today we have a hard copy of those thoughts. I believe that results and testament available by my fellow race comrades that we have achieved our goal.
