Seller's Description
A stunning example of a very rare 1931 Series AE Chevrolet, 6 wheel equipped Sport Deluxe Roadster in pristine condition, along with a 'rumble/dickey seat' and period correct 'Trunk' completing the picture. Birthed in Adelaide with the newly developed 26 HP 194 cubic inch 6 cylinder OHV engine, it was fitted with Body No.43 made in Adelaide by Holden GM Australia (many years before Holden as a brand was launched). It was sold to its first owner in Victoria Park Western Australia. Subsequent owners saw it was well used in a variety of ways, including farm work as a stationery grain threshing machine working off the rear wheels. In 1982 it was rescued by an enthusiast who spent 7 years of dedicated work, culminating in its concourse rebirth in 1989. In 2010 it was purchased by a Shoalhaven watchmaker who spent hundreds of hours ensuring everything was up to scratch. Then finally in 2019 my wife and I became the current custodians of this Post Vintage Masterpiece.
