Just arrived - This 1934 Triumph Southern Cross Sports Saloon is a beautiful example of a rare pre-war vehicle. The Southern Cross models were very robust cars that excelled in various motorsport classes. Produced in 1933 and 1934, approximately 31 Southern Cross Sports Saloons were recorded off the production line, with a very limited number of surviving cars today. This particular car has some amazing history. Purchased in Gravesend, England, the Triumph has been in the same family for the past 40 years. The owners moved with the car to Malaysia, then Singapore, before finally settling with the car in Adelaide in 1985. Today, the Triumph retains its 1087cc 'Coventry Climax' intake over exhaust 4-cylinder motor, and its 4-speed manual gearbox. An older restoration, the British Racing Green finish is in wonderful condition, and paired nicely with a tan leather interior. The woodgrain dash demonstrates a speedo, tacho, fuel gauge, amp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and clock. Behind the two seats is a storage area for the side curtains, and the car is equipped with both a convertible roof and a tonneau cover. The Triumph runs exceptionally, and overall is a very neat and tidy example. To complete the package, the Triumph comes with a small file documenting some of its history. This is the perfect car for the pre-war classic enthusiast, and wonderful value for money considering the rarity and history.
