For sale is this very rare and very original 1948 Jaguar MKIV. This beautiful car has been a South Australian vehicle for many years and in the same family for the last 30 years. The current owner purchased it form the estate of the previous owner. It has been a popular car at car shows and events and has been kept through the years in dry storage. The Jaguar Mark IV (pronounced mark four) is a more recently developed name now commonly used for a range of automobiles built by Jaguar Cars from 1945 to 1949. This range was a return to production, without the brand name S.S., of the SS Jaguar 1½ litre, 2½ litre and 3½ litre models produced by SS Cars from 1935 to 1940. Mark IV is a name now applied in retrospect to separate this model from the succeeding Mark V range. Before the Second World War the name Jaguar was the model name given to the complete range of cars built by SS Cars Ltd. The saloons were titled SS Jaguar 1½ litre, 2½ litre or 3½ litre. The two-seater sports car was titled the SS Jaguar 100 2½ litre or 3½ litre. In March 1945 the name SS Cars Ltd was changed to Jaguar Cars Ltd. Car runs and drives majestically and it always attracts attention wherever it goes. It can be sold together with full transferable rights to the historic heritage plates 12-633 which will be sold separately. These plates have always been with the car and it would be recommended to keep them on the car. Car is currently on Club historic registration which is non transferable. Can be exported anywhere in the world or transported Australiawide at buyers expense. This car also has a sunroof and the original headlining still in place. The woodwork presents very well and its patina creates an old world charm about the vehicle only found in unrestored cars. The brightwork presents well. Seats have been reupholstered by the previous owner to original specifications in leather and are in great condition.
