1956 ford continental mkii 2dr coupe
Seller's Description
C56A 1751 left the Ford Continental factory on 18 November 1955 and was invoiced to J. Coberley Inc Los Angeles for display at the LA Motor Show in December 1955. These cars were sold at $10,000, in 1955, and were more expensive than a Rolls Royce, They were only purchased by the very wealthy and persons such as movie stars of the day, Elizabeth Taylor, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley (which is still on display in Graceland) It was sold to a ship Captain and then passed through several owners before arriving in San Diego in 2012, (owners known). In December 2017 it was acquired by the Peterson Motor Museum and subsequently sold by RM Auctions to a very prominent car collector/enthusiast who kept and upgraded the car until offering it for sale in April 2019. My brother-in-law, Jerry Kay, purchased it on my behalf. The car eventually arrived in Australia in 2021 (the delay was caused by the COVID 19 issues). Since then we have further detailed and improved and driven it sparingly. It is only being sold due to my advancing age and to downsize my collection. A significant file, including the original Ford invoice; copies of work done by previous owners; a workshop manual; owners handbook, and other various artefacts are included. The car is being sold unregistered. Genuine buyers please phone me. Thank you Tery
