Seller's Description
The Buchanan body was moulded off the famous Aston Martin DB3S of Tom Sulman. Arthur Rizzo was a successful racing car builder and driver, and he built a handful of chassis for Buchanan bodies using either MG or Holden suspension and axles. This car uses Holden parts which gives it a wider track (similar to the Aston Martin) than the MG. It also uses a Holden engine and is fitted with a Volvo 4 speed gearbox. This car uses Buchanan Body No10 and was originally built in Brisbane. It was fitted with a GT roof, perhaps for GT racing in the 60's, the owner in 1969 believed it to have been raced, but no evidence has been found to date. The GT roof was later removed, and it was used as a template to build a replica Aston Martin DB3S, and returned to original in 2017. The engine is totally reconditioned, but only mildly tuned, so it is usable and reliable, recently driving 400km to a speed event, competing, and driving home again totally trouble free. The rollover bar can be easily removed if desired. Significant spares available if desired.
