Ordered in December 1956, delivered to Paramount Studios in California in January 1957 to Academy Award winning actress and former wife of Ronald Reagan, Jane Wyman, on the occasion of her 40th birthday. Until November 2007, this car always resided in the desert areas of the state of California, and this new model was frequently seen at the prestigious Thunderbird Club in Palm Springs. It was winning awards even before a total rebuild. This car has won over 50 first prize trophies. It handles and performs beautifully. The vehicle was fitted with stainless steel brake lines during the rebuild. The brake lights and tail-lights are 150 segment LED types, with brake lights actuated immediately the brake lights are deployed. An air conditioning unit is a later Thunderbird Club approved unit, which blows out ice-cold air. Fitted with electronic ignition and an in-line electric fuel pump with a manual switch as a back-up for the mechanical fuel pump. The wheels are Kelsey Hayes original (5 in total). The car is fitted with front and rear over-sized sway bars for greatly enhanced handling. Gas shocks are fitted. The car radio has a Smart Phone connection. A canvas soft top is by the original manufacturer and has a porthole hard top. Recent works include the addition of a multi-speed electric fan and new battery. The original carburettor rebuilt, and original fuel pump rebuilt. Re-wire to the dashboard with new fuse board. All mechanical cables from the dashboard replaced. All dashboard instruments calibrated. Original receipts for re-builds from 1957 to present day, including original sales receipt.
