Seller's Description
Here is an exceedingly rare opportunity to buy what is possibly one of the most original and low mileage, 1961 Lincolns available anywhere. It is a true "survivor" car, has never been restored, and all maintenance work and repairs done in a sympathetic manner, in order to keep the vehicle as original as possible. The 1961 Continental was the very first car to come with a 24,000 mile warranty, and featured seating for six adults, air conditioning, six-way adjustable seats, cruise control, central locking, tinted windows and host of luxury appointments as standard. This car retains all those features in fully working condition. 1961 is the most sought after and collectable of all 60's Lincolns, and this car is a veritable time-capsule, having been pampered for its entire life. It was sold on 27 April 1961 by Town Motors, Englewood in New Jersey to Daniel R Witham from North Bergen, New Jersey in the US, and a slide transparency of the owners standing with their new car is amongst the paperwork, which includes the original invoice, factory build sheet and loads of other paperwork. The car as also ordered with personalised monogrammed floor mats (which are still in the car), and the seats were fitted with heavy duty clear dealer installed plastic seat protectors, to cover the Aqua fabric and leather seats. The car is fully import complied, and was imported into Australia in 2009. It is currently on South Australian Club Registration which is not transferable.
