Seller's Description
Edna is powered by a reliable ‘186’ red motor backed by 3 on the tree. She’s been a delight to have for the past 20 years but now finds herself in need of a new family.
Edna drives beautifully for her age! The 186 red motor is fantastic and doesn’t have any issues. In fact, it can run at 9.5 to 10 litres per hundred on the highway. I’ve taken her on some long trips, like around Victoria, up to Queensland, down the Newell Highway through Dubbo, and another run back up to Queensland when we moved.
The second, third, and reverse gears are all perfect, but there’s a noise in the first gear that should be checked out.
There’s hardly any rust at all, not even in the floor pans. I’d say there’s almost no rust, but I’m sure if you looked really closely, there might be a tiny patch somewhere. There are some heat bubbles in the paint that showed up once the car was here in Queensland. There is a 50c sized patch on the roof where the paint has come off. But all that said, the paint is the original paint and has never been re-sprayed or restored.
The rear seat base could use a reupholstering since it’s original and has two tears. I have had it covered in a blanket. The front seat looks like it was reupholstered by the previous owner.
She’s an incredibly good condition original car that hasn’t been restored, and even though she’s running the 186 motor, she’s all but original!
