Seller's Description
1963 was the first year for the now iconic Corvette Stingray name plate. The C2 corvette was a completely redesigned platform from the previous generation cars and now featured independent suspension all round as well as greatly revised styling from the previous first gen cars and for the first time, Vette buyers had the option of a coupe or a convertible.
This striking red over red, 63 corvette stingray convertible has undergone a complete professional restoration and the paint and body presented in factory Riverside Red Dupont base coat clear coat is beautiful condition. The restoration was completed in approx 2013 with less than a couple of thousand miles being put on the car before it was sold in 2105 and imported here to Australia. The drivetrain in the car maintains the original numbers matching L75 300hp 327ci V8 engine and 4 speed Muncie manual transmission. During the restoration the car was originally completed in it’s stock standard format but has since been upgraded with Edelbrock heads, inlet manifold and carby. It was also treated to a set of extractors and full exhaust along with some chrome dress up engine components with receipts for these upgrades totalling approx. $15,200. The engine bay in the car is very well presented, the correct GM black lines the inner guards and the nice chrome features making it something you will want to show off to your friends.
The interior was obviously given a freshen up during the restoration and shows very little signs of wear. All of the lights, switches and gauges are working, including the clock with even the original instrument cluster being sent out and restored. The factory AM/FM radio has been upgraded to include modern features like Bluetooth connectivity while maintaining the original look. Some upgraded stereo speakers have been neatly and professionally installed out of the way behind the front seats. A custom center console provides some much needed cup holders and storage and has been trimmed to match. Convertible top frame, latches and lid all function as new, the top canvas itself was recently replaced and is like new with a nice clear rear window and a nice tight fit when up. The car sits over a set of 19” American racing wheels for a look that sets it apart from any others.
Included with the sale are the original wheels and hubcaps and original engine bay dress up.
This car represents the birth of a motoring icon and is amongst the most sought after classic cars available in the market today. A nicely restored car with some neat upgrades ready for some top down cruising.
