1965 ford mustang fastback

Seller's Description
Stunning 1965 Ford Mustang 2 + 2 Fastback. Automatic AND Right Hand Drive In Britney blue with cream and blue interior - check that combination out! This is the model that everyone wants – first year of the Fastback, classic lines, no BS extra trim, stunning design, and the cool 2 or 4 seater option. No issues – a lovely car. It’s not concourse, as I use it a lot, but it’s a beautiful classic. I bought it about 10 years ago from a professional Mustang restorer who had done a full body, running gear, interior restoration, and the RH conversion, and it’s been a beauty ever since. He’s retired now but he used to bring one car into Australia a year, spend the year getting it done, sell it and then move to the next. He’d done about 15 of them when I got mine, his reviews were great, and I’ve had no complaints or surprises. I always intended to be able to use this car often, so it has had some upgrades that make it super reliable / useable. For example – it’s Right hand drive! Yes, that’s correct people. With this car, you can actually: overtake, turn right at intersections (without freaking your passenger out by asking about oncoming traffic) and even do drive throughs to pick up food. Think about it – all of those things are a real hassle with LHD cars. I’ve had them (left hand drives) and let’s be honest, they’re a pain in the you know what. Sure, there’s show and cred points at car shows etc with original LHD (for good reason), but I’d rather be able to drive the car anywhere / anytime with no concerns. That’s a $20000 upgrade right there, and no part of you will regret it. I had a brand new Ford crate engine (A 302 actually (5 Litre) – disguised as the original 289 – with 289 paint colour/ stickers etc) installed by a Ford performance expert a little while after I bought this car. The original engine was fine, but compared to the rest of the restoration, I could tell the old motor was a weak point. In the ten years I’ve had the car, the brand new motor has done less than 3000 km, and never missed a beat. Another $20000 upgrade, No, I no longer have the original. This car also has electronic ignition (invisible) and new battery, so it’s a reliable starter. Styled steel wheels, centre console and lovely cream steering wheel. I installed a brass radiator with cowl to address that overheating issue that many old Mustangs have. They hate sitting in traffic and that can get in the way if you want to enjoy it in Summer. So there’s another typical concern that is off the table. In short, the beast maintains that original design intent of minimalism with classic design, but its useability is significantly enhanced. Original exterior and interior. The engine bay and dash all look right but have hidden features that mean the car starts, stops, cools and drives in ways that mean you’ll just enjoy it more. That was my goal when I had the work done. You’ll be rapt with the convenience and invisibility of the upgrades. It’s now a very useable and original looking classic. One of the most iconic and beautifully designed cars on the road with enhanced functionality. They’re not making any more of these. (I know they’re trying, but we know how that’s going…) Car is in the inner city of Melbourne and has always been garaged. Serious buyers welcome to come and check it out. Sold with RWC and it’s on open registration (expires 3 / 2023) so you can put it on club / historic or normal rego after purchase with no grief. $120000 PLEASE guys, no dreamers, reminiscers, tyre kickers or low ballers.
