Seller's Description
Grab yourself a very straight and sold restoration project before we get to it!
Jaguars top of the line vehicle at the time, the 420G was the largest and most advanced vehicle the marque had ever built and was an evolution of the Mark X. It was also the base template (all be it on a smaller platform) for the XJ series of vehicles lasting until the late 80’s. Jaguars top model was most notably intended to be used for chauffeuring dignitaries and heads of state as an alternative option to the traditional Rolls Royce’s.
420G’s featured the 4.2XK engine in similar specification to the E-Type delivering around 255bhp, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, the famous jaguar independent suspension, luxurious leather interior with wood trim & rear picnic tables. 2 tone paint and dealer fitted air-conditioning were optional extras.
This 420G is in good solid condition ready for either a light restoration for daily driver duties or for complete overhaul. The vehicle has a very straight body with no evidence of any structural or body rust. It features the rare dealer fitted smiths air-conditioning system with all the ancillaries to re-instate and re-trimmed interior. The Jaguar does run and drive however is not in roadworthy condition – inspection is recommended, please call for more information.
This Jaguar would make a splendid restoration project for the enthusiast and is not to be missed!
