Seller's Description
This lovely matching numbers Australian delivered 911L is in great original condition and drives extremely well. For the last year of the short wheelbase 'A' series 911, Porsche offered a new model, being the 911L which sat between the 911T and the 911S. It was, in essence, identical to the 911S introduced the year before, but with the 130bhp 'O' series engine from the original 911, as the 160bhp engine in the 911S did not meet US emission requirements. It did however, retain all of the other 911S upgrades and amenities like dual-circuit, ventilated disc brakes, as well as the new range-wide recessed button door handles, aluminium dash, black steering wheel, black-faced gauges and black wipers. They were the most expensive and luxuriously appointed Porsches ever offered in the US, up to that point and with a production run of less than 450, they are amongst the rarest ever built. This particular car was originally delivered in slate grey, it also had black ( salt and pepper ) carpets. The seats and door trims are as delivered except the seats had hounds tooth centres not the red cloth that is there now. Also comes with original wallet / owners manual and a thick file of bills going back approx 30 years. It would look absolutely stunning if restored back to its original colour spec of slate grey with red / black which is one of the most desirable colour schemes on any early 911. Alternatively if restoration is not your thing, just drive it as is. BE quick, original matching numbers Australian delivered early 911's are extremely hard to find and very rarely become available for sale.
