Just arrived - This is a beautiful example of a 1973 Holden HQ Monaro Coupe fit with a few GTS upgrades. This stunning coupe has received an older restoration at some point in its history, and still presents very nicely today. It began life in the Sydney assembly plant as a genuine HQ Monaro Coupe, fit with a 202 high compression 6-cylinder motor and 3-speed automatic. The HQ has since been equipped with a nice, mild 308ci (5L) V8, paired to a three-speed 'Turbo 400' auto transmission with a 2800 stall converter. Finished in a rare 'Orchid Metallic' (paint code 567-15335), the HQ was resprayed in its original colour, while the original 'Cinnabar' interior has been retrimmed to a Black and White GTS-style. For those that enjoy modern comforts, the HQ is also equipped with power steering and air conditioning. The underside of this car shows just how much work has gone into this car, which you can view in a video on our Facebook. It has been torn down and completely rebuilt, with the body coming off the chassis, all suspension, brakes, bushes, and rubbers replaced, a nice new Pacemaker exhaust fitted, and now sits on a set of Centerline wheels. Eligible for historic registration, the HQ is also available with the 'RHQ873' number plates if it is to stay in SA. This HQ is a brilliantly restored car in a stand-out original colour.
