1973 Holden HQ 350 V8 Statesman DeVille This car has been brought to us by an elderly gentleman to be sold. He is not the original owner but owned for the last 25 years. It’s is a factory L30 350 V8 car but the current owner took it in to get the engine rebuilt approx 8 years ago and when he returned to pick the car up he was told they used a new block but the original rocker covers, exhaust manifolds and air cleaner where all kept, the engine has done approx 50,000k’s since it was built and it’s on straight gas with a tank behind the rear seat and the boot floor modified to take a spare wheel underneath. The current owner was an engineer so had made that himself and also told me how he mar the rear exhaust for the car. He also told me he had it painted 20 years ago and that he had the vinyl roof stripped, primered and completely painted unlike the factory process, the new vinyl top was also welded at the seams not stitched so it wouldn’t have any of the typical rust issues associated with those tops and it is in excellent condition. The trim is all original, it’s in good order, shows some typical ware but well above average condition, often the brocade cloth inserts separate and is a big job to get back to rite. The interior could still use a professional detail, you’d just need someone who knows their stuff to wet vacuum the seats and carpet, so they don’t use a harsh chemical but would be nice for it. All in all it’s a cool old typical old mans car, it’s a good solid body, what you see is what you get, only has one spot of rust that needs attention and it’s in the top of the drip rail of the boot channel, the car has been rust proofed, all the chrome, wheel arch trims, sill covers ect is in great condition, paint still shines well, has stone chips and is 20 years old so presents really well for it’s age… Just a cool old cruiser that got loaded with options from the factory. 350 V8, T400 auto trans, integrated air conditioning, power steering, power windows, remote side mirrors, cloth inserts, sunshade, over riders, ide mouldings, hood ornament and mud flaps. Comes with original owners guide with original owner’s details, owner’s manual book, first registration renewal certificate and genuine Statesman accessories brochure. Currently registered but selling unregistered and on consignment.
