Seller's Description
-Factory right-hand-drive
-Completely original interior
-5.7L V8
-3-speed automatic transmission
This factory right-hand-drive example was specially ordered from the US, assembled by Holden in Australia, and delivered new to Perth in 1975. It is a one owner vehicle, and presents beautifully for its age having travelled only 70,826km since new. The interior is completely original and near perfect, and the paintwork presents well after a respray in 2012. It was always garaged without fail, and truly is a time capsule.
The Caprice range was introduced in 1965 as the luxury trim package for the very successful Impala. Due to the great success of the package, the caprice was released as its own model, and was a full-size luxury sedan that was the largest Chevrolet ever built at the time of release. From here, many refinements and improvements were made, and the model was eventually discontinued in 1996. During its long production run, the Caprice was extremely successful, and became a staple in the US automotive market. Now, they are highly collectable, especially the first and second generation.
The 5.7L V8 is in excellent mechanical order, having received a top end rebuild in 2013. The motor supplies 145bhp to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. These combine to provide the luxurious and smooth ride these cars are so well known for. In excellent mechanical condition, this car is ready to be driven from the showroom floor.
With excellent provenance, a unique history, and in outstanding condition, this Caprice would make an excellent addition to any collection.
