Up for sale is my 1976 Toyota Celica RA23. I’ve owned the car for over 2 years, only driving to club events, with the occasional drive on weekends. The car was restored in 2012 by the previous owner. It has had a bare metal respray in the original yellow colour, with the original tan interior also being restored. The paint has been maintained very well over the past 7 years, with no rust visible. The car has some GT goodies included, such as the front grille, rear badge and side pinstripe. Other modifications include the TA22 side indicators and ‘Celica’ badges, and the venetian blind. The car is running with a reconditioned 18R-C motor with a bigger cam and twin side-draft Dellortos, coupled to a 5-speed W50 manual transmission. The motor was reconditioned in 2016, and has always been run on 98. There is a CD player hidden in the glove box, which was installed by the previous owner. The car has also been fitted with brand new aftermarket bonnet hinges and stay. These hinges are significantly stronger than the original ones, and have been professionally made in the US, and powder coated in black. The car has some minor known issues. There is a rip in the drivers seat, due to normal wear and tear. The motor has a very minor oil leak, coming from the front of the motor. The heater is currently not working, but I have never needed to use it. For the right price, I will include a crate of parts with a brake booster, mirrors, and lenses, as well as some workshop manuals, an original owners manual and Toyota tool kit. The car turns heads wherever it goes, and sounds great too. It is a clean example of an RA23, with a few personal touches.
