Lancia Beta Coupe S2 first registered in November 1980 this car is as original as you will find anywhere. Although it has been through a top to bottom restoration it has matching engine and body numbers, with original features maintained. To my knowledge the car was first registered in Queensland late in 1980 and remained on the road until 1995. Since then, the Beta has been slowly and thoroughly restored and refurbished. Before I purchased the car in November 2017 it had been stripped to a bare shell, all rust and minor bodywork repaired and received a total repaint in the Rossa Corsa (Race Red) Lancia factory colour. With most of the restoration work completed the car was re-registered in late 2019. Additional replacements and upgrades have further improved the performance, reliability and comfort. The Beta has been a reliable, enjoyable classic drive participating in car club activities and displays turning heads whenever it’s taken out. Work carried out during restoration: 1. Complete engine rebuild (14000km ago ) 2. Brake system overhaul, callipers and master cylinder resleeved and seals replaced 3. Wiring repaired or replaced 4. Interior refurbished, new head lining fitted, seats replaced with second hand original seats and a recovered dash and refurbished instrument cluster fitted 5. All strut inserts replaced with aftermarket shocks 6. Factory AC reinstalled The true milage is unknown however during my ownership it has travelled approximately 14000 km. This Beta Coupe is a great car to drive; I have enjoyed track days, displays, club outings or just cruising. A regular at Brisbane Cars and Coffee, the Beta has also been exhibited at the Brisbane Motor Museum. For the right buyer this classic is ready to be used as it is, continue to refine detail for display, go racing, or historic rallying, it’s all possible.
