I purchased this car brand new in October, 1991. It is a limited edition 'Verde' (Italian for Green), one of only 200 produced. It has travelled a genuine 84,000 kilometres and has been regularly serviced. It is registered until 28th October, 2011. It is in perfect mechanical order and has good tyres. It is a lovely, extremely reliable vehicle to drive and is very economical. Books and service history plus original advertising go with the car. If you are after a good low mileage Capri, I doubt if you will find a better one.
For collectible appeal, this car ticks the right boxes, being a convertible, limited edition, original, unmodified and low mileage. Economy and reliability are added advantages.
The Verde range were finished in the attractive Ford colour 'Everglade', with a white soft top. A steel hardtop was an option, but I did not purchase one for this car.
Prior to the production of the Verde, the only colurs offered in the Capri range were red, white, metallic silver and metallic blue. Also, the Verde was fitted with more attractive fifteen inch wheels, rather than the standard fourteen inch versions appearing on earlier models, and had a rear spoiler and airconditioning as standard features. This colour was available post-Verde production, but non-Verdes usually had black, rather than white soft tops and lacked the Verde stickers on the rear side panels.
