Seller's Description
**This car is a genuine 1991 TWR JaguarSport XJR-S 6.0, not just an XJS** Yes, this is the 'real deal' and not one of the many 'look-alikes' and fakes- the very rare special 'XJS' built by TWR that put all of their hard racing lessons learned into one amazing package. At the end of 1984 Tom Walkinshaw of TWR announced his intention to build a range of special XJS Coupes under the name Jaguar Sport and called it the XJR-S. Significant development went into the cars, aided by TWR's experience with European touring car XJ-S's they had raced for Jaguar. The 6.0 XJR-S differed from a standard 5.3 XJS or 5.3 XJR-S by the fitment of the following: - Hand built 6.0 litre V12 engine with a stroke increase from 70mm (2.75") to 78.5mm (3.09") and re-engineered forged crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and cylinder liners. - Cold air induction system. - Zytek sequential digital ignition engine management system was adopted, derived directly from the Group C World Sportscar Championship Winning Jaguar XJR-8. - Wind tunnel tuned GRP body kit with a 12% improvement in coefficients. - Speedline 8" x 18" exclusive 'JaguarSport' alloy wheels. - Contrasting piping on seats colour coded to match exterior paintwork - MOMO specially designed leather trimmed four spoke 'JaguarSport' steering wheel. - 'Quick Shift' system added to transmission - Ugraded brakes, including 10.625" rear discs and massive 11.625" front discs, both with lightweight 4 pot callipers and high friction pads. - Bilstein gas filled sports dampers - Re-valved steering rack for more feel. This amazing vehicle is only 2 owners from new and has relatively low mileage for a car of its age. It is known to be one of less than 10 genuine road registered 6.0 XJR-S in Australia and has been in Australia since 1995 (All 6.0 XJR-S registered in Australia are 'personal imports' due to them being manufactured after 1989). This car is not to be confused with a 1988 'Celebration' XJR-S (the first 100 limited edition XJR-S' made, which are mechanically identical to a standard 5.3 XJS without any of the engine, transmission and steering/suspension upgrades of the 1989/1990/1991 6.0 Litre cars). This car is absolutely stunning in its original British Racing Green (to match with the 1985 Bathurst 1000 winning car), with matching green piping over its supple Oatmeal Connolly leather hide. It comes with all original owners documentation in the correct JaguarSport leather wallet and comes with a set of original 6.0 sales brochures. Please call if you have any questions whatsoever, I am a fanatical Jaguar enthusiast and more than happy to answer any request. The current registration has just lapsed, however it will be sold with a Victorian RWC to any Victorian buyer and be ready to re-register.
