This Mercedes-Benz 600SEL was first sold new in Sydney, Australia in 1992. Previously owned by a well-known vehicle collector in Melbourne and has featured on display as part of our exhibit since opening. It has genuine low mileage and is in completely original condition including all paint and has never been in an accident. The vehicle retains its original owner's manual/log books which is fully service by Mercedes-Benz and a history file of receipts to show works completed.

Mercedes-Benz released their flagship W140 series model, the 600SEL in 1991. This top of the range luxury limousine was significantly ahead of its time and set numerous performance records for a vehicle of its size. In addition to the usual opulent interior which Mercedes-Benz customers had become accustomed to, it was the first production car to feature double-paned soundproof glazed glass, sonar reverse parking aids, rain sensing windshield wipers and optional rear reclining electric seats. The 6L V12 engine produced 402bhp and a top speed of 288km/h.
