The Chrysler CL replaced the VK at the end of 1976 and would be produced for just shy of two years. A limited edition Chrysler Le Baron luxury model was announced in April 1978, where only 400 examples would be produced and cost a whopping $8,898 at the time. To put the cost into perspective, a 770 Charger was $6,948. The LeBaron was designed to highlight new engine and suspension changes for the upcoming CM series. Standard features of the LeBaron included red or blue cloth upholstery, carpet, reclining front seats, padded centre console, heated rear window, push button radio, laminated windscreen with tint band and power steering.
This complete and solid example of a CL Regal LeBaron package was factory fitted with the 265ci 4.3-litre inline-six engine with the 2BBL Carb making this a desirable package. This car would be suitable for restoration or parts and appears to be complete both inside and out. The car has suffered from rust, primarily under where the vinyl roof was. The interior is also complete and in overall decent order. The engine does not over by hand but has not been tested further.
