2008 Volkswagen Passat R36

Joining the performance-oriented Touareg R50 and Golf R32, the Passat R36 makes this range a force to be reckoned with. The new Passat R36 was created by Volkswagen Individual, the specialist team for producing unique Volkswagen models. Power is derived from a 3.6 litre V6 direct-injection petrol engine producing 220 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. As part of the standard equipment, the power transmission is managed by Volkswagen's innovative six speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) ensuring maximum control over this performance vehicle. The 4Motion all-wheel drive system offers maximum stability and cornering control.

The new Passat R36 utilises Anti-lock Braking, Electronic Brake-Pressure Distribution, Anti-Slip Regulation, Brake Assist and Electronic Stabilisation Program. Eight airbags, front, side (front and rear) as well as curtain bags, assist with occupant safety. Volkswagen Individual also designed the R36's interior. The instruments and middle console are finished in a dark brushed aluminium, the leather steering wheel is especially slip-proof and features the R36 logo, as do the gearshift paddles. A sport seating system (with electric 12-way adjustment and electro-pneumatic side bolsters) is covered in San Remo microfibre & Vienna leather. A six disc CD with MP3 and 250W amplifier, rain sensing windscreen wipers, auto dimming rear-view mirror and parking sensors, front & rear are standard. Options include 600W audio system, electric glass sunroof, RNS510 sat-nav rear and view camera.
