All-Holden race to feature at 49th Historic Winton
Fans of early Holdens have another reason to attend this year’s Historic Winton, with an all-Holden race added for the annual meeting’s programme. Sponsored by Shannons, the 49th Historic Winton will be held at Winton Motor Raceway in regional Victoria on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May, 2026, with the all-Holden feature race on the Saturday.

The all-Holden race will be open to all 48-215 (FX) through to HR Holdens prepared to Group N rules. In addition to this, there will be four other Group N races that welcome all GpN-eligible makes and models. Early Holdens can also take part in the Regularity class, which will be run separately to the Group N competition.
The all-Holden feature race will be part of a packed programme at this year’s Historic Winton, with Formula Vee, Group J/K/Lb, Group Sa/Sb/Sc Sports, Group M/O/Q/R, Formula Ford and other classes also in action, ensuring huge diversity. In total, around 300 cars from the 1920s to the 1980s are expected.

Beyond the on-track action, there will also be an extensive paddock display, with themes celebrating make, model and general motoring anniversaries this year. Some of these include 100 years of Pontiac and Mercedes-Benz, amongst others. The FE Holden, Austin A35 and Renault Dauphine all turn 70 in 2026, with 60-year anniversaries for the Toyota Corolla, XR Falcon, Alfa Romeo Spider, Mini Moke and others. In addition, 2026 marks 50 years of the Lotus Esprit, Bristol 603 and VW Golf GTI.
Free display passes (driver and one passenger per car) for anniversary marques and invited clubs are available, with selected vehicles from the paddock display also eligible to take part in parade laps of the Winton circuit at lunchtime each day.

Along with the big 2-day track programme and paddock display, the 49th Historic Winton will also feature an automotive market, food and beverages, with spectator access to the competition paddock allowing fans to see the race cars up close and talk to drivers.
